Poppies

A walk through the sand dunes at Bamburgh, Northumberland was the inspiration behind this piece. Masses of poppies and cow parsley were growing amongst the grasses, a joy to walk among and certainly photograph! It was so uplifting I just had to recreate in felt.

Handcrafted felt using the wet felting technique with Merino wool fibres, nepps and silk .

Embroidered with hand dyed merino wool .

My studies are not intended to be direct facsimiles, instead I take inspiration from their form, colour and patterns and interpret that in my handcrafted felt and embroidery.

Many hours goes into producing a piece of work.

Poppies  has been professionally framed in a beautiful bare faced oak wooden frame with a double mount board which I have written the title of the work and signed. The frame is a good quality, solid oak which has been not been varnished so the natural grain compliments the work. Ready to hang. An authentication label which I have also signed along with description and methodology is included.

UK deliveries are typically sent out using Royal Mail or a Courier depending on weight and size.  

For multiple items please contact me directly as I can combine the postage costs. Please email me if you are a local customer and would like to collect in person to save the delivery cost. Please note I now live in North Yorkshire!

I aim to dispatch pictures the next working day *. I will let you know once dispatched. 

If you would like to purchase more than one picture, please contact me first so I can calculate the most economical method of shipping for you.
