Forest Floor

This textured work was part of the 'Planting Ideas' exhibition at the St. Barbe Museum and Gallery in Lymington, Hampshire. The exhibition 'leads the visitor through the process of collecting, preserving and cataloguing plants and the history of herbaria, introducing relevant contemporary art practice inspired by science and botany'. Curated by Sherry Doyal, a maker, artist and teacher who has worked as a conservator with natural science and history collections. 18th January to 16th March 2024.

This work is supplied unframed.

Wet felted Blueface Leicester wool and silk with hand embroidery. The yarn and silk are hand dyed. Inspired by moss and lichens thriving on the forest floor. 

My studies are not intended to be direct facsimiles, instead I take inspiration from their form, colour and patterns and interpret that in my felt and stitch work.

An authentication label which I have also signed along with description is included.

Many hours goes into producing a piece of work

UK deliveries are typically sent out using Royal Mail or a Courier depending on weight and size.  

For multiple items please contact me directly as I can combine the postage costs. Please email me if you are a local customer and would like to collect in person to save the delivery cost. Please note I now live in North Yorkshire!
